Arapawa Goats

A very rare breed of goat from the arapawa island of new zealand and thanks to the late Betty Rowe who spent her life trying to save these goats from the new zealand goverment who are intent on culling them off the island. There are aprox 300 left outside the new zealand arapawa island now, only 6 adults were imported to the uk in 2004 so it is very important to keep the breed alive. they are thought to be decendants of the British Milch goat taken to the arapawa island by Captain Cook in the 1700. They are the most apealling breed of goat, they love to climb and play on their log and rock pile. As you can see they do vary in colour from black, brown,nr white and tri-colour. They are very deer like in there behavior and the billys are magnificent with massive horns. If you are thinking of keeping goats you wont find a nicer breed to keep.
